The 2012 U.S. Olympic Team is complete, with the full roster being announced by the United States Olympic Committee, and now, here, visualized on a map.

Team USA will contest for 246 of the 302 medal events in London, with athletes competing in 25 different sports.
“The United States of America will be represented at the Olympic Games in London by 530 of our country’s finest individuals. They are our nation’s greatest athletes and embody what it means to be American. I look forward to watching them compete and to representing our nation both on and off the field of play,” said USOC CEO Scott Blackmun. “I’m also proud that for the first time in history, the U.S. Olympic Team features more women than men - a true testament to the impact of Title IX, which in its 40-year history has increased sport opportunities for millions of females across the United States.”
The 2012 U.S. Olympic Team features 228 returning Olympians, including seven five-time Olympians -- Amy Acuff, track & field; Phillip Dutton, equestrian - eventing; Khatuna Lorig, archery; Emil Milev, shooting; Karen O’Connor, equestrian - eventing; Kim Rhode, shooting; and Danielle Scott-Arruda, volleyball - indoor.
Tam USA includes athletes from 44 states, and upon learning that, we did the most obvious thing -- put them all into a map. Listed by their birthplace (for the most part), here is the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team, visualized:
