Team USA Vs. Great Britain Final Score: Carmelo Anthony, Deron Williams Help America To 118-78 Victory

Behind a balanced scoring attack and stifling on-ball defense, Team USA cruised to a 118-78 victory over Great Britain in an Olympics tune-up on Thursday.

The third game in the pre-Olympics schedule for Team USA is in the books. On Thursday afternoon, the U.S. men’s national basketball team played an exhibition game against Great Britain and ended up picking up a handy 118-78 victory.

Team USA scuffled a bit throughout the first two quarters, but after halftime they really got loose and opened up a massive lead, which almost certainly was what head coach Mike Krzyzewski wanted to see. Carmelo Anthony and Deron Williams led the charge for Team USA in the game, as the players seemed content to spread the scoring around.

Williams and Anthony each finished with 19 points, while LeBron James added 16 points and Kevin Durant knocked in 13 of his own. Williams proved to be on point from long range, draining five of his six 3-point attempts. Russell Westbrook added 15 points, nine assists and three rebounds in the win.

The U.S. defense was often suffocating, rolling up a whopping 16 steals in the game -- including three by Chris Paul -- while the entire Great Britain team managed just one.

The leading scorer for Great Britain was fellow NBA star Luol Deng, who led all scorers in the game with 25 points. The Chicago Bulls forward also picked up four rebounds and four assists, and was responsible for Britain's lone steal in the game.
