Kimberly Rhode of the United States has won a gold medal in the Women’s Skeet shooting competition Sunday afternoon at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Rhode scored a 99, equaling the world record.

China’s Ning Wei won the silver medal (score of 91) and Danka Bartekova of Slovakia took the bronze after edging Russia’s Marina Belikova in a shootoff (both finished with a final score of 90).

With the win, Rhode not only matched the world record (99 out of a possible 100), but she also became the first American to win an individual medal in five consecutive Olympic Games. She won her first medal, a gold in Double Trap, at the 1996 Games in Atlanta. Rhode took the silver medal in Skeet in Beijing.
