Team USA Vs. France Final Score: Americans Begin Olympics With 98-71 Victory

Team USA's opener in the 2012 Olympic basketball tournament was a smashing success. The Americans took on a formidable France squad and blew them out, dominating the final three quarters in a 98-71 victory.

Team USA led by just one point after the first quarter, but went on an 11-0 run once Tony Parker exited the game at the beginning of the second quarter. The Americans increased their lead to 16 points by halftime and had a 27-point advantage after three quarters.

Kevin Durant led all scorers with 22 points, hitting 3-5 from downtown and also snaring nine rebounds. LeBron James had just nine points, but added eight assists, including several beautiful passes in the third quarter. Parker had 10 points, but shot just 4-11 from the field.

Team USA will next face Tunisia on Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. EST. Tunisia fell, 60-56, to Nigeria in its Olympics opener earlier Sunday.
