2012 Summer Olympics: Event Schedule, TV Coverage, Streaming For Wednesday

The fifth day of the 2012 London Olympics will begin with the United States and China continuing its battle for dominance in the medal count. As things stand the two nations are tied at 23 medals apiece, but China holds a 13-9 lead in gold medals. Both countries will have several chances to pick up some more hardware on Wednesday.

Among the gold medal events athletes from the United States will compete in include two cycling events: the men’s and women’s individual time trial. Kristin Armstrong and Amber Neben will go for gold in the women’s event while Taylor Phinney rides for the men’s team.

NBC’s primetime coverage will include the men’s all-around gymnastics champion, which will feature the United States’ John Orozco and Danell Leyva. But for those looking to watch it live, NBCOlympics.com will have a stream available when it takes place at 11:30 a.m. ET.

The day’s swimming events will include Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte and Missy Franklin. To catch them and the rest of the action, here are some highlights from the day’s television schedule (all times Eastern):

4 a.m.-8 p.m. - NBC Sports Network

Cycling - Women’s Individual time trial - 7:30 a.m.
Men’s Soccer - Brazil vs. New Zealand - 9:30 a.m.
Women’s Basketball - United States vs. Turkey - 5:15 p.m.

7 a.m.-3 p.m. - Bravo

Tennis - Round-of-16 (men’s and women’s), mixed doubles

9 a.m.-6 p.m. - MSNBC

Fencing - Women’s Sabre Round-of-32, Round-of-16 and Quarterfinals - 9 a.m.
Fencing - Women’s Sabre Semifinals and Bronze Medal - 1:45 p.m.
Fencing - Women’s Sabre Final - 3:30 p.m.

5 p.m.-8 p.m. - CNBC

Boxing - Men’s bantamweight, heavyweight and super heavyweight elimination matches

10 a.m.-5 p.m. - NBC

Cycling - Men’s individual time trial - 10 a.m.
Swimming - Qualifying - 11:05 a.m., 12:30 p.m.
Women’s Volleyball - USA vs. China - 3:00 p.m.

8 p.m.-12 a.m. - NBC

Men’s Gymnastics - All-around champion
Swimming - Gold medal finals (Men’s: 200m breaststroke, 100m freestyle; Women’s: 4x200m freestyle, 200m butterfly)
Women’ Beach Volleyball - USA vs. Austria
