Men’s Synchronized Diving 3m Springboard: China Continues To Conquer Diving Results

China picked up yet another victory in a diving event on Wednesday morning as Luo Yutong and Qin Kai picked up a victory in the men’s 3-meter synchronized diving final. China has won the gold medal in all four diving events thus far at the 2012 London Olympics.

China won the gold medal in the first three diving events at the 2012 London Olympics. Following Wednesday morning’s men’s 3-meter synchronized diving final, it seems as though China is on its way to sweeping this summer’s events at the diving pool.

Luo Yutong and Qin Kai got off to a bit of a slow start in the first two rounds, but eventually found their groove en route to yet another gold medal (Qin’s second, as he won the event in Beijing as well). The final actually went six rounds, but the Chinese duo essentially wrapped up their gold medal with a score of 104.88 in the fifth round as they essentially aced a forward 4½ somersault dive that carried a 3.8 degree of difficulty.

Russian duo Ilya Zakharov and Evgeny Kuznetsov took home the silver medal, while Team USA earned a bronze medal with a solid showing from the team of Troy Dumais and Kristian Ipsen. It was the American’s third time medaling in diving this Olympics after enduring a 12-year medal drought prior to this year’s Games.
