The North Korean men have already won two gold medals in weightlifting at the 2012 London Olympics, but North Korea’s women showed Wednesday morning that they’re no slouches, either, as Rim Jong Sim picked up a gold medal in the final of the women’s 69-kilogram event.

The 19-year-old competing in her first Olympics was able to match two other contestants by getting up 115 kilograms in the snatch, but her weight of 146 kilograms is the clean-and-jerk portion of the event put her over the top with a total of 261 kilograms.

Roxana Daniela Cocos of Romania earned the silver medal with a total of 261 kilograms -- though she nearly tied the total of Sim on her third attempt in the clean-and-jerk before having bowing out -- while Maryna Shkermankova will take a bronze medal back to Belarus with her total of 256.
