Gay Olympians, Day 14: Mitcham Into Semis, Lesbians Lead Dutch To Field Hockey Gold
Mitcham gave a scare before nailing two dives. Dutch score big second half.

Mitcham gave fans a scare in the preliminary round of the 10-meter platform. After two dives he was on the edge of being eliminated. But he rallied with two 80+ scores in his final four dives to advance, finishing ninth out of 32 divers. He’s one of 18 to advance to Saturday’s semifinals

Tied 0-0 in the second half of the gold medal match against Argentina, it was the out lesbian Dutch players who came to the rescue. First Carlien Dirske van den Huevel opened up the scoring in the 44th minute. Then team captain Maartje Paumen scored less than 10 minutes later to ice the game.
