Tickets for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia will go on sale for American customers at noon ET Monday.

Tickets are sold through the exclusive vendor for the Olympics in the United State, CoSport, who also handled ticket sales for last year’s Summer Olympics in London. Tickets are allocated to vendors by country, which, as Larry Olmstead wrote for Forbes, will likely lead to some tickets -- hockey, snowboarding -- being extremely tough gets for potential American fans, while other events that are less popular among American fans -- curling, for example -- should be easy gets.

The sales are first-come first-serve, with events beginning as low as $22. Of course, the actual price of getting to the events will be much higher: While many made their way to London, a relatively easy travel destination for Americans, Sochi -- a city of 350,000 on the Black Sea about 1,000 miles south of Moscow -- will be an expensive spot to get to.

The 2014 Winter Olympics kick off Feb. 7, just a tad under a year from today.
