The Seattle Mariners will make baseball history on Sunday when they become the first team to raise the rainbow Pride Flag for an MLB game, per Seattle Out & Proud.
Mariners to raise rainbow Pride Flag on Sunday

The Mariners are hosting the Chicago Cubs on Sunday, which is also the date of the 39th annual Seattle Pride Parade
”Leading by example, the Mariners will continue Baseball’s legacy as a social institution. Rebecca Hale, Director of Public Information for the Mariners told Seattle Out & Proud this morning, “We’re a part of this community. Our fans are a reflection of our community. We thought this was an appropriate gesture on a day that is very meaningful to the LGBT community.”
And it’s not just a baseball first -- Sunday will mark the first time in US sports history that a professional team will raise the Pride Flag for equal rights.
