This crash sent three-time Olympic ski jump champion Thomas Morgenstern to the hospital in Austria on Friday, and man is it tough to watch.
Brutal crash sends Olympic ski jumper to the hospital
He’s responsive, but this is reason No. 476 to never ever ski jump.
Here’s an update from the Associated Press:
Morgenstern lost his balance in the air, turned over to the left and landed on his back and head. He briefly lost consciousness but was able to speak shortly afterward.
“Fortunately he was responsive, Thomas can move arms and legs. That’s very important,” team physician Herbert Leitner said. “He asked me what happened.”
This is Morgenstern’s second big crash since December. Here’s hoping for another speedy recovery.
But, again: NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE NOPE
