Jarrod Dyson believes in truth in labeling. A former 50th-round draft pick who can't hit much at all, Dyson plays because he's very fast. Despite his lack of pop, he provides the Royals with value due to his baserunning and strong defensive work in the outfield. Dyson knows where his bread is buttered and he wants you to know, too -- via his hair:

It’s possible that this is just meant to be Dyson’s super-hero costume; one trope of comic books is that characters whose primary power is super-speed give a tip of the cap to Hermes’/Mercury’s winged cap.
Flash Comics No. 10, October 1940 (Grand Comics Database).
Flash mythology would have Dyson aligning himself with the bad guy, Professor Zoom. Still, we have a clear signal as to what Dyson is about, that batting helmets cover up his branding most of the time notwithstanding. If only he could put wings right on the outside, but until baseball starts selling helmet ad space to FTD that's not going to happen. In the meantime, we can only hope that other Royals adopt the same kind of approach, so that we could start up the appreciation machine as we see them coming -- say, Billy Butler:
