Wednesday night, we met Chevy Guy who suffered through a painfully embarrassing moment on national television as he awarded the World Series MVP award to Madison Bumgarner. As part of the presentation, Bumgarner was also given a set of keys to a brand-new 2015 Chevy Colorado truck.
No, Madison Bumgarner didn’t get a faulty truck
The World Series MVP’s new Chevy Colorado was recalled earlier in the month due to an issue with the airbags.

If the awkward video wasn't bad enough, now Chevy Guy is having to deal with the Internet discovering that the truck awarded to the Giants pitcher was the subject of a recall for an airbag flaw.
Unfortunately for potential jokesters, while the recall is a legitimate issue, the truck is fine and perfectly safe to drive.
According to AutoNews.com, General Motors started the recall in early October and all trucks delivered to dealerships since have been fixed with the correct software patch to eliminate the problem. Apparently, most of the trucks at the time of the recall were still on assembly lines or in transit to dealerships with less than 50 having been sold to customers at the time of the recall.
So it appears that Bumgarner’s truck is perfectly safe.
