Official Germany World Cup video quotes fake Steven Gerrard Twitter account

Germany apparently doing know the different between real Steven Gerrard and fake Steven Gerrard.

Germany are the best in the world at soccer. If anyone disagrees, they can just point at that shiny World Cup trophy they hoisted in Rio de Janeiro last July and get to hold onto for the next four years.

But Germany are not the best at Twitter. Or fact checking.

The German FA put out a movie celebrating the country’s World Cup title. It was like most championship movies and included quotes from big names in soccer praising the team. One of those was Steven Gerrard, or at least Germany thought it was Steven Gerrard.

Really, it was a fake Steven Gerrard Twitter account.

So the movie that will forever celebrate Germany's World Cup title will include a quote from a random person who created a fake Steven Gerrard Twitter account and tweeted out some thing about them being good. Never forget, indeed.
