NBA fans are not a forgiving bunch, and the league decided to schedule a handful of returns Wednesday night.
The night of NBA returns, and so much booing
If you’re an NBA player or coach returning to a place you once called home, chances are you’re getting booed. Unless you’re Vince Carter.

Jason Kidd's strange departure from the Brooklyn Nets has left a sore spot for fans, and they're making sure he knows it as the Milwaukee Bucks visit Brooklyn:
Yes, fans even interrupted the national anthem to give Kidd a piece of their mind:
Dude yells "Kidd you suck" in the middle of the National Anthem.
— Tom Lorenzo (@TomLorenzo) November 20, 2014 Former-Magicians and current-Clippers Glen Davis and Hedo Turkoglu are in Orlando and .... they are also not safe from the boo birds:
Hedo and Glen Davis getting booed every time they touch the ball
— Evan Dunlap (@BQRMagic) November 20, 2014 Lance Stephenson's return to Indiana went a bit better, with a mostly-mixed reaction. How would Toronto Raptors fans treat a returning Vince Carter? They cheered him:
Cheers for Vince. Look at that.
— Raptors HQ (@RaptorsHQ) November 20, 2014 Even better, the Raptors played a video tribute for Vince that brought him to tears. Quite the welcome back in comparison to how the other returns have gone through the night.
See, not all fan bases let the salt stick in their wounds. Let a decade pass and things may smooth over!
