Frozen Four 2014: Minnesota advances on unbelievable buzzer-beater goal

One of the best finishes in college hockey history? It has to be.

Hannah Foslien

Unbelievable is the only way to describe. The score was 1-1. North Dakota was on the power play. There were less than 20 seconds on the clock, and the faceoff was in the Minnesota end.

The Gophers were simply hoping for overtime to come, when the incredible happened:

Justin Holl played in 37 games for Minnesota this season. That was his first goal. When all was said and done, they put 0.6 seconds on the clock ... enough for a puck drop and a Gophers celebration. Minnnesota will play Union in Saturday’s national title game.
