From the annals of YOU HAD ONE JOB: The guy whose job it was to wave the checkered flag at the Formula 1 Chinese Grand Prix waved the checkered flag after 55 laps. The race had 56 laps.

WHOOPS.
(winner Lewis) Hamilton was told to keep going on his radio, but slowed down briefly as he took the checkered flag a lap too soon. It was Hamilton's third straight win of the season and his team, Mercedes, has won the first four F1 events of 2014.
"That was very strange. I was thinking 'Am I seeing things?'", Hamilton said after the race. He was not seeing things.
It’s not that Flag Guy was bad at counting -- he’s supposed to wave a white flag with one lap to go, but apparently waved the wrong one. There are rules for this -- the standings from the 54th lap were considered official -- so it’s not like they had to throw out the race.
But still! You Had One Job.
