Landon Donovan is watching the World Cup stateside like most of the country, but unlike the rest of us he has become an analyst for ESPN. Making the switch to broadcasting is tricky. People tend not to realize how quickly they speak in their everyday lives, and don’t understand why that doesn’t translate well to TV, but Donovan is taking the need to speak slowly a touch too far.
”Good to speak to you Landon”1 ...2 ...3 ...4 ...“Hi.”
Okay, to be fair the slow response was likely due to tape delay from Rio to Los Angeles, but it’s funny anyway.
