Reds’ closer Aroldis Chapman is great, so we can understand John Baker’s excitement at drawing a walk against him rather than becoming just another out.
John Baker gives the world’s most excited fist pump after a walk
He’s facing Aroldis Chapman, so of course he’s excited to not be out.

This is funny, but it’s kind of a mess of celebrations. The bat fling gets mixed with a fist pump (okay, the fist pump), and after taking off his padding while still standing at the plate -- poor form, Baker, poor form -- he then thanks his deity of choice for the free pass. You gotta stick to one celebration and own it, John, not go through everything you’ve seen other players do. It’s understandable, though: the Cubs were upset at Chapman throwing over Nate Schierholtz’s head just a few pitches earlier, and Baker was pumped up to (passively) retaliate.
Really, though, that’s the most awkward fist pump possibly ever.
