America is caught in Tim Howard fever, and rightfully so. There was a magic confluence that saw him play at his absolute best on the world’s brightest stage and now soccer fans want to honor the USMNT goalkeeper with a special honor -- his own airport.
Soccer fans launch petition to name Washington airport after Tim Howard
Move over, Ronald Reagan.

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
A petition has been started on “We The People” to rename Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and change it to “Tim Howard Washington National Airport.” The petition needs a grand total of 100,000 signatures in order to receive a response from the White House and there are currently just over 3,000 signatures.
Can we just name an entire day after him? Heck, what about a month?
