Mariners’ closer Fernando Rodney mimes shooting an arrow for his post-save celebration. It’s good as far as celebrations go -- and celebrations should be encouraged -- but there’s a proper time for them. Rodney pulled an arrow from his quiver after ending the eighth inning against the Angels, and that just fired up the Angels in the ninth:
Mike Trout, Albert Pujols mock Fernando Rodney’s arrow celebration
Rodney celebrated too early, and the Angels made him pay for it with arrows of their own.

We’ve seen some swagger from Pujols in the past -- he’s had some big ole bat flips and cold stares in his day -- so seeing him fire an arrow after tying the game off of Rodney is great, yet not unexpected. Seeing Mike Trout do it, though, now that’s wonderful:
With authority, even! Trout has shown us very little personality over the past three seasons, but between this and trolling the absurd Bryce Harper Doesn’t Hustle meme earlier this year, there’s promise for swagger here, too.
Are you preemptively excited for the first “Jeter wouldn’t have done that” response to future face of the game Mike Trout’s show of emotion?
