Dale Earnhardt Jr. joining Twitter has been a singular joy. One of the most recognizable faces in NASCAR has made his life an open book for us to read, including sharing some home truths about the nicest thing his mom has told him.

On Sunday, this came in the form of Momma Earnhardt Jr. offering “congrads” (sic) to her son and comparing the 39-year-old to his legendary father, following a ninth-place finish at the Brickyard in Indianapolis. She also put her armchair quarterback skills to good use by telling her son that his car was “shit.”

The No. 88 car is having one of its best seasons with Dale Jr. at the helm, currently sitting in second place. Being a good company man, he quickly told his mom that his cars are always good, but now we know a little more about what his mom thinks of Hendrick Motorsports.
