The former All-SEC tight end, who wore No. 43, passed away in a car accident June 29 at the age of 23.


This appears to be just for fall practice, but we should expect Auburn to honor the local legend’s memory during the season in some way as well.
Previously, Auburn fans honored his legacy by giving their Toomer’s Corner trees a traditional victory celebration and his sister wrote a touching memorial. (He’d also written this for us about his sister earlier this summer.)
Two weeks ago, head coach Gus Malzahn wore a No. 43 pin to SEC Media Days and the ESPYs:
