Monday Night Football! The biggest football game of the week! It’s an American tradition! Everybody is watching! Howard Cosell! John Madden!

Let’s review this for a second:

notmnf We understand what's actually happening here. The NFL gave ESPN the rights to broadcast the only game on this Thursday evening -- perhaps they just didn't feel like spending the money to produce a broadcast on the NFL Network -- and ESPN decided to use the opportunity as practice for their Monday Night Football crew, and, well, didn't feel like spending money on extra graphics.

Either that, or ESPN just has no need for our silly days of the week, and simply exists on its own schedule.
