Jaguars RT Austin Pasztor leaves game with hand injury vs. Bears

Jacksonville’s starting right tackle has headed to the locker room at the end of the first quarter.

The Jacksonville Jaguars lost right tackle Austin Pasztor to a hand injury during their preseason tilt against the Chicago Bears on Thursday night, according to Hays Carlyon. Pasztor is questionable to return.

Jacksonville has played solidly behind Pasztor and the rest of the youthful offensive line, amassing a 13-0 lead on the road after one quarter. Pasztor, 23, is in his second professional year after starring at the University of Virginia. Last year, Pasztor played in 15 games for the Jaguars and should he win the starting job, he will pair with second-year tackle Luke Joeckel as bookends.

The Jaguars are relying on the offensive line to mature and develop in hopes of a better output. Last year, the Jaguars ranked 31st in total offense, only better than the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The pass protection was also a mess, with the line giving up 50 sacks. The Miami Dolphins were the sole team behind Jacksonville with 58 sacks allowed.
