Zenit complete transfer for Bart Simpson, make weird humorless video

Maybe this is really funny if you’re Russian.

Zenit St. Petersburg wanted to surprise you with a well-meaning prank during the transfer deadline, but instead this whole “We’re signing Bart Simpson” thing became really odd.

Having a fake transfer wasn’t a bad idea, but this execution ... yeesh. Essentially Zenit took one of the world’s best-known cartoon characters and put him in as many humorless situations as possible. There’s no fun music in the background, no surprises. It’s just scene after scene of a guy in a Bart Simpson suit (with very tired eyes) sitting down, signing contracts and meeting people, all without much emotion.

Seriously, having the opportunity to club the character was the peak of excitement from Zenit.
