— IG: NAHRIGHT (@nahright) September 2, 2014 Finally, Riff Raff and Action Bronson on a Topps card

The strapping young men on the cover of “Rookies of the Future,” the Alchemist-produced collaboration between Riff Raff and Action Bronson, are not Riff Raff, The Alchemist, or Action Bronson. Those are, left to right and as near as I can tell, Geno Petralli, Rance Mulliniks and David Wells.
Riff Raff and Action Bronson are rappers; Petralli was a backup catcher and professional mustache model; Wells won 239 games and once attacked a dude with a fork at a diner near my apartment, but has never rapped on a commercial release. The only things rapper/producer Alchemist and shortstop/third baseman Mulliniks have in common are versatility and boyish good looks. So: this card is an error. If you find it in a pack of 1982 Topps, please alert the authorities.
(Also the song is pretty good, if sadly lacking the Lenny Dykstra and (extremely profane) Randy Velarde shout-outs that made Riff Raff and Action Bronson legends in their field.)
NOTE: An earlier draft incorrectly identified David Wells as Mark Eichhorn, which, come on. We regret the error.
