Nowadays, Aaron Rodgers is a three-time Pro Bowler, former NFL MVP, and superstar with State Farm ads. But once upon a time, he was a lowly recruited high school quarterback who didn’t pick up any college scholarship offers.
Aaron Rodgers reps Butte Community College instead of Cal
Aaron Rodgers went to Cal, but he’d rather talk about the other school he went to.

He reminds us of that every time the Packers are on Sunday Night Football:
Out of high school, Rodgers had no Division I scholarship offers. Illinois said they’d let him walk on to their football team, but that was it. So he went to Butte Community College, to play on a field with no lights. But he blossomed, throwing 28 touchdowns, and the Roadrunners -- you knew Butte was the Roadrunners, right? -- went 10-1. That earned him a look from Cal, and at Cal, he developed into a first-round draft pick. The rest is history.
He’s actually been doing repping Butte for a while. Rodgers says Cal fans have told gotten pretty upset about it, but Rodgers insists he still loves the Golden Bears -- he just wants to represent a school that took a chance on him at a time few did. For what it’s worth, Rodgers has said that at some point, he plans on using his high school in the intros as well.
