Cyclist Jeremy Roy has been wearing a camera on his bicycle during the Tour Down Under, and uploading videos to Youtube after stages so those of us who aren’t world class cyclists can see what it’s like to be in a race.
This is a cyclist’s-eye view of an enormous finish line crash
Jeremy Roy just avoided a major crash at the Tour Down Under -- and it was captured on his on-bike camera.
During Stage 4 of the race, the 31-year-old Frenchman was a few bike lengths back when an enormous crash took place near the finish line, wiping out a slew of riders. The on-bike camera captures Roy’s nimble maneuver to avoid the crash, but also captures the carnage of men going very fast hurtling off bicycles.
The crash is just as intimidating from a more conventional perspective (try to spot Roy sliding up the side of the crash)
Lawson Craddock fractured his rib, sternum, and wrist on the crash, and several other cyclists were forced to bow out of the Tour due to injuries.
