Brooklyn Nets rookie Rondae Hollis-Jefferson gave his mom the incredible birthday surprise of a new home recently. He told his story to the New York Post.
Nets rookie surprises mom with a house, catches emotional moment on film
“Being able to change your mom’s life, to be able to put her in a comfortable situation. … It makes that feeling in your heart go to ease.”
Jefferson sets up the surprise so that his mother believes she’s going to a friend’s house, when in reality, the house is hers to keep. The accompanying video captures all the emotions.
From the two-minute mark, you can see the pure excitement of everyone awaiting his mother’s arrival. Jefferson can barely contain himself. Then the door opens, everyone shouts “Surprise!” and the embrace he shares with his mom when she realizes what’s happening is truly heartwarming. No, YOU’RE crying.
