The pantheon of amazing Odell Beckham Jr. catches is redefining how we think about great catches. They’ve broken us. Muted us. It’s like watching Stephen Curry hit threes that should be impossible. Suddenly a catch like this, which would be a Catch of the Year candidate, is relegated to “pretty good,” purely because Beckham Jr. is so ridiculous.
Look at how he’s able to haul it in, then immediately set his eyes downfield looking for yards after the catch. In most games this would sail over the receiver’s head and maybe get picked off -- but not when Beckham Jr. is playing.
