Unlike football where crowd noise can be a significant deterrent for the opponent, basketball crowds don’t usually have a direct impact on the game. Usually. Then there are games like Wednesday between Michigan State and Maryland Eastern Shore. MSU’s Izzone student section dug into the bag of student section tricks and started counting down the shot clock early, trying to force a rushed shot. And it worked!
The Michigan State student section kept fooling its opponent with a shot clock trick
FIVE TIMES.

Note to Maryland-Eastern Shore: Stop believing the Izzone's fake shot-clock countdowns. They're lying to you.
— Joe Rexrode (@joerexrode) December 10, 2015 That happens occasionally and is always a good laugh when it does.
Then it happened again:
Maryland Eastern Shore has already fallen for the Izzone's fake shot clock countdown twice here
— Kyle Austin (@kylebaustin) December 10, 2015 And it KEPT HAPPENING:
This is getting absurd. Maryland Eastern Shore has fallen for the Izzone countdown five times now
— Kyle Austin (@kylebaustin) December 10, 2015 Oh, poor Maryland Eastern Shore. At first it was funny, but five times is just sad. Someone needs to coach them not to fall for it. To make matters worse, even when they didn’t fall for it, things went poorly.
Maryland Eastern Shore doesn't fall for the Ozone's fake shot clock this time. Instead, shot-clock violation. Maybe do listen to them ...
