Huge brawl ends high school basketball game, both teams’ seasons

James Dator has been covering a wide range of sports for SB Nation for over a decade, with a special focus on the NFL.
A mammoth brawl at a high school basketball game in Indiana leaves two teams with nothing to play for. Fists flew between Hammond and Griffith high schools when a hard foul in the first quarter sent a player flying into the wall behind the basket.
Things escalated from there and games have been canceled for the remainder of the year. Neither team will be eligible to play in the state championship.
