Syracuse honored Roosevelt *Bouie* with a jersey that said ‘Bowie’

From the chronicles of YOU ONLY HAD ONE JOB

On its face, this looks like a nice jersey retirement ceremony:

But upon further analysis, that jersey says BOWIE on it. The player in question is Roosevelt "Bouie." With a U. Kind of a bummer to honor a guy with a jersey that doesn't have his name spelled right.

The good news is, the jersey that went up in the rafters was spelled correctly:

Hopefully someone gets him a replacement.

Bouie played for Jim Boeheim during the first four years of Boeheim’s Syracuse career, helping the coach establish himself with a pair of Sweet 16 runs and a Big East championship. The 6’11 center was a second-round pick of the Mavericks, but chose to pursue a successful career in Italy. His running mate, Louis Orr, also had his jersey retired in the same ceremony. Read more about their careers at our Syracuse blog, Troy Nunes is an Absolute Magician.
