Huskers’ Miles bans players from locker room

Bruce Thorson-USA TODAY SportsDespite being a preseason top 25 team, Nebraska has been a major disappointment this season. The Huskers have lost seven of their last eight games, most recently losing by 28 at home to Iowa on Sunday. After the loss to the Hawkeyes, coach Tim Miles was so angry that he decided to ban his players from the locker room.
This is no joke. Miles said he’s even chaining the doors Coach Carter style so he players can’t get in, according to the Omaha World Herald.

Bob Stanton-USA TODAY SportsFor much of night, it appeared No. 3 Gonzaga was on the way to its seemingly annual road loss in the WCC. The Zags often run into trouble at least once a year on the road, and with Saint Mary’s building a 17-point lead, it looked like Saturday might just be that night.
The Bulldogs, however, proved that 2015 may just be different. Despite trailing for more than 35 minutes, the Zags’ depth and overall talent eventually prevailed. Gonzaga didn’t take its first lead until there was less than four minutes to play. Yet despite digging a big hole, Gonzaga pulled away during the final minutes to avoid the road upset and continue on the path to a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Norther Iowa’s Deon Mitchell even faked out the play-by-play announcer who gave him credit for the finish before disaster struck.

Various sports teams like to support various other sports teams at colleges. But I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team show up in full uniform like the Northwestern football team. They even brought a football!
I guess this is meant to serve as a reminder that Northwestern football beat Penn State football earlier this year?

Michael C. Johnson-USA TODAY SportsToddrick Gotcher saved Texas Tech by missing, THEN hitting. He bricked this free throw just right, Isaiah Manderson managed to grab the rebound amidst five Oklahoma jerseys, and nobody was near the perimeter to guard Gotcher.
In OT, Oklahoma found themselves up three again, and opted to play it out. The doubled the ball, forcing a pass to Manderson, who clanged a three, giving the Sooners a win.

An in-game between-the-legs dunk is, like, really, really rare. You have to have amazing leaping ability and coordination and a perfect breakaway opportunity -- and the cojones to actually try it in a game and risk getting chewed out by your coach if you miss.
The only player we can remember doing this in a legit, high-level game is Ricky Davis. Someone pulled one off in an NAIA Division II game last year. Former Baylor player Deuce Bello made a name for doing them on multiple occasions in high school.

UNC opened their game against Georgia Tech with an on-court tribute to the late, great Dean Smith: running his famed Four Corners offense. And to make it even sweeter, the Tar Heels got a bucket, with Marcus Paige finding Brice Johnson on a backdoor cut.
The Four Corners was an offense that made sense in the days before the invention of the shot clock: When teams took a lead, it made sense for them to slow pace of play to a grinding halt rather than actually playing. But the five seconds closely guarded rule meant that simply standing with the ball would result in a turnover.
