Welcome to Are you there Kogod? It’s me, Idiot, an advice column created to help our readers through some of life’s most difficult dilemmas. The majority of the questions submitted will be answered by yours truly, but occasionally we’ll have some guest advice-givers, including athletes from time to time. I realize you may have some questions about how this works, so here’s a start.
Are you there Kogod? It’s me, Idiot.

Why should I read this column over the 8,000 other advice columns?
Well, if you’re on this page then you’re likely an SB Nation reader, so here’s another chance to have fun with the cool kids. Plus, you get to be a bit voyeuristic with your fellow SB Nation readers. Seeing other people’s problems tend to make you feel better about your own. Here’s to all of us feeling a little more normal.
Where do I send my question?
To me - sarah.kogod@sbnation.com.
Can I be anonymous?
Yes, you can remain anonymous by request.
Are you actually qualified to be giving life advice?
Eh, probably not. But, I am a person with common sense and empathy who won’t judge you, yet won’t hesitate to tell you when you’re being an idiot. So there’s that.
Can I ask you about job troubles?
Yes.
Can I ask you about parenting struggles?
Sure.
Can I ask out about relationship issues?
Absolutely.
Can I ask you how to get my partner to agree to taboo sex acts?
No.
But what if it’s just a tiny bit taboo?
Ok, maybe.
What’s the best way to get my question into the column?
Keep your email short and to the point. If you need an 18-paragraph email to tell me your problem I probably can’t help, mostly because I stopped reading at paragraph four. Also, send dog gifs.
