Minor league batter gets drilled in the stomach by catcher’s throw to third

In a game between the Pawtucket Red Sox and the Durham Bulls, the catcher for the Sox attempted to throw down to third but had one issue:

I am now a proponent of making it legal for the batter to try and guard the catcher whenever they try to throw someone out.
