Yahoo Sports reports that, without a single cable company yet reporting their numbers -- and cable companies generally comprise about 60 percent of sales for pay-per-view -- the Mayweather-Pacquaio fight has officially racked up 2.25 million sales. That 2.25 million comes solely from satellite dish and FIOS services. If that 2.25 million were the entirety of the story, the fight would already be tied for second on the all-time PPV list.
Mayweather-Pacquiao will almost certainly obliterate the all-time PPV record
By quite a lot, it seems.

But it’s not the whole story, which means when all is said and done, there were probably close to, if not more than, 5 million sales for a fight that cost $99 a pop and was almost universally reviled.
If cable hits 60 percent of total sales and Mayweather-Pacquiao winds up doing 5.625 million, it would exceed Nos. 1 and 2 on the list by 895,000 sales.
Any promoter would be thrilled with sales of 895,000, given that would mean it's one of the top 40 pay-per-views ever.
Looks like both Mayweather and Pacquiao will have even more truckloads of money backing up to their houses than they anticipated.
