Lauren Hill honored at WNBA Fever game

The basketball player passed away earlier this year after a battle with cancer.

David Richard-USA TODAY Sports

The Indiana Fever had a tribute to Lauren Hill, the basketball player whose bravery in the face of cancer captured our hearts earlier this year. Lauren passed away in April as a result of a brain tumor, but not before realizing her college basketball dreams.

Hill was named an honorary team member of the Fever last year, and her family attended today’s game. They posted a video tribute from Fever players online.

Fans were invited to shoot “Layups for Lauren,” and The Cure Starts Now foundation received donations from the Fever and the Indiana Pacers.
