A triple play can be the most exciting play in baseball. Not only for the rarity, but because they typically come with frantic action. A diving play, a race to a base with balls and runners scattering around the diamond. The Rockies turned a triple play on Tuesday, but it was none of those things.
Rockies turn a super casual triple play like it was nothing

That looks more like a casual toss to warm up between innings than it does a triple play in a live game. That’s what happens when the runners are in motion and a ball is ripped directly at a defender.
Paul Goldschmidt couldn’t believe the informality of how that got turned. (Or he was just bummed he missed a two-run double by a few inches had that been over Reyes’ head.)
