Serena Williams lost in the US Open semifinals to Roberta Vinci, ending her quest for a calendar Grand Slam and suffering her first-ever loss in 39 major semifinals or finals after winning the first set.
Twitter is blaming Drake for Serena Williams’ loss

Twitter knows exactly who is to blame. Not Williams, and certainly not Vinci.

Well when Serena breaks it off with Drake I'm here for you boo. My season is already in the crapper so no one will blame you.

— roxane gay (@rgay) September 11, 2015 The Drake backlash right now is a sight to behold.
— Christopher Hayes (@chrislhayes) September 11, 2015 I'm not saying Venus should grab Drake and go for a walk. But she really should. I mean now. Not walk. Run. #JinxesAreRealPeople
— Michelle Beadle (@MichelleDBeadle) September 11, 2015 Drake is no longer allowed to attend major sporting events.
— Taylor Rooks (@TaylorRooks) September 11, 2015 Uber but for sending Drake to important moments in your enemies' lives
— Zack Goldman (@ThatDamnYank) September 11, 2015 Drake is a well-established sports curse, having previously taken down numerous seemingly unbeatable teams. He was present during Williams’ Wimbledon victory in July -- but perhaps the Drake Curse just needs a while to set in.
