The Seahawks started overtime with an onside kick that failed.
Pete Carroll says he never called OT onside kick, blames kicker
According to Seattle coach Pete Carroll that wasn’t the plan. The Seahawks weren’t going for an onside kick and were instead trying to pop the ball up beyond the first row of Rams then attempt to recover it there. Instead of that happening, Seattle kicker Steven Hauschka said he didn’t make good contact and miss-hit the ball.
Seahawks were trying to chip it over front line and get ball. Wasn't supposed to be onside.
