High school mistakes weed killer for fertilizer, destroys its football field

Oh no. Oh ... no. You know that sinking feeling when you go down a drop on a roller coaster? This is that times 1,000. The crew responsible for maintaining the field at St. Edward High School in Illinois made a very bad mistake. Someone grabbed the wrong bottle and mixed weed killer in a mixture designed to fertilize the lawn.

The school is trying to make lemonade out of lemons.

“Right now the field is in no worse condition than many fields are later on in the season. It doesn’t look great but there is grass there. We’re certainly not going to win any grass beauty pageants or anything.”

Are “grass beauty pageants” really a thing? For shame. All grass is beautiful. Except this grass. This grass looks dead and horrible.
