A Minnesota Twins fan drove three hours with his daughter to Friday night’s game against the Angels, only to have it rained out. So he did what anyone with thumbs and a cellular device in this information age would do: he tweeted at Twins president Dave St. Peter.
Twins offer hotel stay and upgraded tickets to father and daughter who drove 3 hours to rained-out game
“Damn Mother Nature. Can @Twins provide hotel room allowing you to spend the night and attend tomorrow’s 12:10 game?”

Driving 3 hrs to the @twins game tonight w/ my 8yo daughter. Looks like rain, any forecast predictions, @TwinsPrez ?
— Colin (@ColinDMcLain) September 18, 2015 St. Peter (yes) responded, first to say that the Twins would play:
We will play. https://t.co/vMPZavQuLh
— Dave St. Peter (@TwinsPrez) September 18, 2015 But the rain didn’t let up -- so St. Peter followed up to ask if McClain and his daughter could make Saturday’s game instead, and offering to put them up in a Minneapolis hotel for the night.

— Dave St. Peter (@TwinsPrez) September 19, 2015 McLain accepted.
@TwinsPrez The @Twins put my daughter and I in the Lowes hotel and upgraded our tix to behind home plate. I'm flabbergasted. #twinsfan4life
