Roger Goodell is not exactly the most popular sports figure in the world. He’s disliked by a lot of people for a wide variety of reasons. The handling of the DeflateGate saga and his decision to suspend Tom Brady has made Goodell even more disliked in Boston than many places.
‘Hire someone to murder him’ is an actual thing a Boston TV host said about Roger Goodell
That has led to a lot of unflattering comments about Goodell, a few hot takes and even some bad jokes. On Wednesday, we got a combination of all three from Kirk Minihane on Comcast SportsNet New England’s Arbella Early Edition.
Holy crap, Boston TV host says ON THE AIR that Roger Goodell should be murdered. Yes, murdered. pic.twitter.com/IBz7J9Gj6K
— Bart Hubbuch (@BartHubbuch) September 3, 2015 Yes, Minihane’s hypothetical and joking (we hope joking) solution to end Goodell’s run as NFL commissioner is to “hire someone to murder him.” Goodell is hardly a popular person in Boston, but even still a murder joke over a few PSI in a football is a bit much.
For Minihane, this is just the latest ridiculous opinion to add to the resume. Here is a non-comprehensive list of some of his other opinions.
- He was suspended/given a day off after an on-air argument with Christian Fauria where Minihane said Fauria would not be on the radio had he not played professional football.
- He was suspended for a week after calling FOX reporter Erin Andrews a “gutless bitch.”
- He returned from suspension only to suggest Andrews had her job because of her looks and if she “weighed 15 pounds more, she’d be a waitress.”
