A drone crash-landed into the stands at the US Open last night.

Its operator, a New York City teacher, was arrested.

The crash occurred during a second-round match between Italian player Flavia Pennetta and Romania’s Monica Niculescu in Louis Armstrong Stadium.
“With everything going on in the world, I thought, ‘OK, it’s over,’” said Pennetta. “That’s how things happen.”
Pennetta went on to defeat Niculescu, 6-1, 6-4.
The drone’s operator, a New York City teacher, was arrested nearby.
