Kevin Durant, who is currently touring Spain on promotional duties for his new Nike shoe, was all business discussing the upcoming NBA season with the Oklahoma City Thunder:
Kevin Durant: ‘I’m still the best player in the world’
”I think we have a really good team. We have to come together and play as one, and that’s harder than people realize. But we’re ready to take on the challenge. We’re under the radar, exactly where we want to be, and looking forward to having a good season.
Durant went from winning the 2013-14 MVP award to playing just 27 games last season because of a fracture in his foot. Perhaps the injury -- along with having to learn under a new coach -- could lead to a little bit of doubt or even a slight decline in his confidence?
That idea immediately goes out the window as soon as someone asks him if he’s the best player in the world:
“And yes, I’m still the best player in the world.”
That’s the Durant we remember.
