This is shaping up to be an absolute bumper year for amazingly weird cricket moments. Days after a bowler got someone out by taking a ball to the face we have this Rube Goldberg-esque out from Andre Russell of the Sydney Thunder.
Let’s break this one down for those who don’t understand cricket: Russell is trying to protect his wicket from being struck (the three sticks behind him) but those get knocked over while being bowled at, and for whatever reason he’s out. The first front-on angle seems like he got all tied up in close quarters -- but take a look at the profile shot that shows just how far he stumbled backwards.
