Swimmer Santo Condorelli flips the middle finger to his dad for good luck before every race

Well this is interesting!

What is the best way to get pumped up for a swim meet? By having your dad flip you off from the stands as you get into the blocks and you do the same to him. That’s exactly what Canadian swimmer Santo Condorelli and his father have been doing since he was a little kid. It must be working because he’s REALLY good. Check out this video around the 1:30 mark.

He’s currently ranked third in the world the 100m freestyle, so hopefully we’ll see him at the 2016 Olympic Games, proudly showing that middle finger. Sadly, Santo’s pre-race signal to his Dad has since been toned down for cameras. He’ll politely only flip the bird from his forehead now. We can only hope for middle finger greatness in Rio.
