Some Chargers players say fans need to show up now that the team is staying in San Diego for 2016
The Chargers are reportedly staying put, for now. 2017 might be different however. So with the Chargers remaining in San Diego, the fans in the city must be pretty happy. They will no longer be pestered by the fear that their team will be packing up their bags in 2016.
But the players aren’t exactly reciprocating the good vibes, with one notable exception. Quarterback Philip Rivers has been vocal about not moving to Los Angeles because he does not want to raise his children here. It became an issue when Rivers was set to sign an extension with the Chargers, but he eventually re-signed and committed himself to the franchise regardless of where they end playing in the next few years.

Other Chargers players aren’t as happy, seeking a long-term solution. Or maybe they just wanted out of San Diego. Still, San Diego fans won’t be happy with all the shade they threw after the decision to remain in San Diego for 2016. You can definitely understand their frustration stemming from a lack of fan support.
